When you think “green restaurant,” what pops into your head? Local produce? LED lights? Demand-control range hoods?

All those things are great, but true sustainability comes from all aspects of a restaurant’s operations—and that means suppliers and partners as well as the restaurant itself.

That’s why it’s so exciting that Leaders in Environmentally Accountable Foodservice (LEAF) has announced its Approved Suppliers program. The program is designed to connect green-conscious restaurants with suppliers who provide “environmentally preferable” products and services.

Suppliers who achieve LEAF certification are eligible to use the LEAF logo and seal of approval on their website and marketing materials, as well as a listing in LEAF’s Approved Supplier database.

For more information, contact LEAF.

This follows LEAF’s popular green restaurant certification program, which has been running since 2009.
