From the National Restaurant Association comes a great list of tips for cutting your heating costs.

Easiest tips on the list? Making sure employees don’t prop doors ajar or leave takeout windows open, and setting thermostats in party rooms and other underused areas to the “Unoccupied” setting.

Other tips include:

  • Install side panels on your hood, and place heat-generating appliances flush against the wall to eliminate heat-stealing updrafts.
  • Have your ducts professionally checked for leaks.
  • Check rooftop air dampers and make sure they’re not stuck open.
